We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Assistant Professor to provide course instruction at Ocean County College. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of course content and instructional methods, ensuring student comprehension and retention of knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
The Adjunct Assistant Professor will be responsible for:
• Holding classes for all scheduled times and adhering to established college teaching policies and guidelines.
• Submitting a course syllabus and course outline for approval by the School Dean.
• Participating in departmental meetings and serving on search committees as determined by the School Dean.
• Responding to invitations to recommend textbooks or other required texts.
• Completing grading of student assignments and exams within 5 days and submitting final grades no later than 48 hours after the conclusion of their last day of class.
• Participating in student learning outcomes assessment related to the adjunct's teaching assignment.
• Adhering to all established College faculty and student absence and attendance policies, guidelines and requirements.
• Preparing and maintaining Canvas shells for assigned classes.
• Completing related projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
• A Master's Degree in the discipline or a related field.
• Prior experience teaching at the high school or college level or experience as a trainer or in conducting group presentations.
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
• Recent technology experience as required of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior exposure to online course study or a Learning Management System (LMS) is an asset.
