Job Title: Swim Instructor

Job Summary:

The Swim Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting safe and progressive swim lessons for students of various skill levels. This role requires a strong understanding of swimming techniques, water safety, and the ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach swimming skills and techniques to students of various ages and skill levels
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of students
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for students
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
Requirements:
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Ability to plan, organize, and conduct swim lessons
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current certifications in swimming and water safety
Working Conditions:

The Swim Instructor will work in a pool environment, with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of equipment. The role requires 60% water-related activity, 20% walking, and 20% standing.

Clearances:

The South Kitsap School District requires all employees to undergo a Washington State Patrol and FBI fingerprint background check.
