Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Director to lead our Culinary and Nutritional Services Department at Frontier Management (OR). The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the department to ensure quality nutritional services are provided to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management
    • Develop and implement effective operational strategies to ensure efficient and safe food preparation and service.
    • Supervise and manage the culinary staff to ensure high-quality food products and excellent customer service.
    • Maintain accurate inventory levels and manage food and supply budgets.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company standards.
  • Customer Relations and Service Management
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service.
    • Respond to resident and staff concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
    • Participate in community events and activities to promote the department's services.
  • Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management
    • Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure high-quality food products and services.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
    • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure a safe and healthy food environment.
  • Financial/Assets Management, Administration, and Reporting
    • Manage departmental budgets and financial resources to ensure efficient operations.
    • Develop and implement effective administrative systems to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
    • Monitor and analyze financial data to inform operational decisions.
  • Human Resource Management and Development
    • Recruit, select, and develop a high-performing culinary team.
    • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to ensure staff growth and retention.
    • Manage employee performance and conduct regular evaluations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
  • Proven track record of success in leading high-performing teams and driving operational excellence.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
