Nutrition Services Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Position Title: Nutrition Services Manager

Program: Thrive to Five

Classification: Full time; Exempt

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management:
    • Oversee the completion of weekly documentation such as menus, production runs, and delivery receipts.
    • Ensure accurate product statements and labels for all food items served.
    • Place timely and precise orders to fulfill production needs.
    • Supervise deliveries and storage of food products.
    • Conduct daily production and sanitation tasks.
    • Utilize food service software and make necessary updates.
    • Perform all responsibilities of a Nutrition Service Associate.
  • Food Preparation & Handling:
    • Prepare daily meals in accordance with the established menu.
    • Ensure compliance with USDA daily serving sizes.
    • Document serving sizes required for reimbursement purposes.
    • Assist in the procurement of food and supplies while managing inventory.
    • Safely maintain and store food products to minimize waste.
    • Accommodate special dietary needs and prevent cross-contamination.
    • Deliver meals to clients while adhering to safe handling standards.
    • Maintain safe food storage practices.
    • Stay updated on food safety recalls.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Wear appropriate attire and uphold personal hygiene standards for food handling.
    • Ensure a clean and pest-free kitchen and storage environment.
    • Follow established cleaning schedules and operate kitchen equipment correctly.
  • Customer Service:
    • Foster positive relationships with agencies and the community.
    • Collaborate with families and staff on menu development.
    • Work with program staff to ensure proper food distribution and storage.
    • Accept and provide constructive feedback on team services.
    • Support the agency in achieving its core mission.
  • Grant Compliance:
    • Maintain necessary certifications and clearances.
    • Obtain and keep special diet documentation up to date.
    • Provide daily menus for posting and record-keeping.
    • Procure food items in accordance with established guidelines.
    • Participate in all required training sessions.
  • Community Engagement & Collaboration:
    • Contribute to the planning of community events.
    • Seek opportunities to enhance team services within the community.
    • Engage in community and agency events.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid PA Driver's license.
  • Previous experience in food service is preferred.
  • Must successfully complete ServSafe certification within six months of hire.
