Maintenance Mechanic for Brewing Operations

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be an integral member of the Maintenance Team within the Brewing Department. This role involves working in a collaborative environment where you will play a key part in ensuring the optimal performance of equipment at our brewery. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining machinery to prevent breakdowns and support the technical development of our operators, fostering a culture of operator-based maintenance. This position will report to the Maintenance Leads and may require working on 2nd or 3rd shifts, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance during shifts and scheduled maintenance periods.
  • Diagnose, identify, and rectify equipment issues and malfunctions that arise during operations.
  • Proactively evaluate machinery and implement enhancements to boost equipment efficiency.
  • Carry out repairs and upgrades to machinery, including welding and fabrication of parts as necessary.
  • Perform root cause analysis and breakdown elimination for all equipment failures, implementing corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
  • Assess the effectiveness of preventive maintenance practices and suggest revisions to improve maintenance outcomes.
  • Provide technical assistance to management, engineers, and contractors for baseline development and capital projects, participating in improvement initiatives as required.
  • Understand product quality control principles and process flow.
  • Ensure that all repair work and modifications adhere to safety and quality standards.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of four years of experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in a high-speed manufacturing setting.
  • High school diploma or GED, with a minimum age of 21.
  • Experience with machining (Lathe, Mill, Drill Press, etc.) and welding.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and rebuilding various types of pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement, etc.).
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and rebuilding valves (mixproof, butterfly, diaphragm, etc.).
  • Experience with troubleshooting and rebuilding heat exchangers.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including familiarity with maintenance management software.
  • Able to work in confined spaces and at heights, including on scaffolding.
  • Solid understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance methodologies.
