Join the team at North Carolina State University's Campus Enterprises as a Lead Food Service Technician. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading a staff of temporary and student employees operating a high-volume dining location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain daily operation of a unit, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to guidelines and procedures.
  • Train employees to follow all guidelines and procedures set by Dining Services and brand standards.
  • Model the Division's mission and values, introducing them to employees and fostering a positive, cohesive workplace.
  • Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees' work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients.
  • Adhere to all University policies, procedures, and regulations, and Division standard operating practices and protocols.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
  • Knowledge of equipment, cooking methods, measurements, and food safety.
  • Able to read, write, and perform mathematical problem-solving.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and supervisors.
  • Must follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure.
  • Excellence in completing all tasks and performance goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of previous food service experience.
  • Previous experience in working in a lead role in food service, and leading the efforts of other employees and assigning tasks.
  • 1-2 years of experience cooking.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and have the ability to learn new software programs.
