About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled VP of Operations and Business Development to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Operations organization, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and refine the Operations Strategy aligned with overall business goals and objectives.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance productivity while maintaining quality standards.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Define and implement a comprehensive Lean Manufacturing strategy aligned with Operations objectives.
  • Process Optimization: Apply Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, and JIT to identify, analyze, and eliminate waste in production processes.
  • Benchmarking and Reporting: Establish Key Performance Indicators to measure the effectiveness of Lean initiatives and Operations execution.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely across Operations organizations to integrate Lean principles into their operations and collaborate to ensure all principles enable organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Manufacturing Expertise: Significant expertise in Production System Design and Configuration.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in leading multi-functional initiatives in manufacturing and business unit environments.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Track record in Lean Manufacturing and application of tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strategic Development: Demonstrated expertise in Strategic Development, particularly in Balanced Scorecard and Hoshin Kanri Planning.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of complex technical manufacturing processes and production system design and configuration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Process Experience: Application and experience of Lean processes and tools in both the design of new and transformation of existing production systems.
  • Strategic Planning: Proven track record of Strategic Planning, preferably Hoshin Kanri/Balanced Scorecard, connecting every level of an operations organization to company goals.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Demonstrated experience in leading development at all levels of the organization in Lean Methodologies and Production System Configuration.
