A key aspect of your role will involve engaging in initial sales discussions to translate customer feedback into precise requirements and proposals. Your expertise in additive manufacturing and cutting-edge software will be essential in optimizing customer designs for both printability and performance.

Your responsibilities will include developing strategies for support structures and compensation, aiming for successful first-time prints that meet the highest quality standards. At ADDMAN Engineering LLC, you will be part of a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering team, frequently interacting with program managers, materials and process engineers, technicians, machinists, quality assurance professionals, and company leadership.

This position is governed by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), necessitating U.S. citizenship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct research to understand end-user requirements through collaboration with sales teams and direct client engagement, which may involve travel to trade shows and customer locations.
  • Enhance part files to improve printability, facilitate post-processing, and optimize functionality.
  • Create build layouts and files compatible with various laser powder bed fusion printing technologies.
  • Advance organizational capabilities in additive manufacturing process simulation, topology optimization, and generative design, including software evaluation and acquisition.
  • Develop support structures and machining plans for product realization using both additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques.
  • Collaborate with the CNC machining team to provide estimates for both complete CNC and hybrid AM/CNC projects.
  • Support manufacturing operations throughout the project lifecycle, including applications development and low-rate production.
  • Contribute to the quoting process by providing accurate build time, machining time, and other essential information for timely and precise quotes.
  • Actively engage in team problem-solving, process enhancement, and decision-making.
  • Lead internal initiatives to improve quoting, design, or manufacturing workflows.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities to meet customer expectations.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and background.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to translate concepts into completed designs within budget and timelines.
  • A collaborative team player willing to acquire new skills and knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Enthusiastic about rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies.
  • Prior experience in additive manufacturing.
  • High proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, AM build file preparation, generative design, topology optimization, and/or process simulation.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and CNC machining processes.
  • Expertise in GD&T and inspection methodologies.
