Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Director of Political Field Operations, the Deputy Director of Community Engagement Programs will oversee the execution of statewide direct voter outreach, engagement, education, and organizing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Actively engages in management discussions.
- Collaborates in the development of strategic initiatives within the PPAM team.
- Accountable for program outcomes and objectives aligned with the PPAM strategic plan.
- Coordinates interdepartmental outreach efforts within PPMI.
- Provides regular updates on field strategies and organizing results.
- Works closely with the Government Relations team to support cross-functional goals.
- Stays informed on current legislative and electoral developments.
Will supervise the Patient Advocacy Program, the Black Organizing Program, the Raiz Program, and the Generation Action Program, each supported by one organizer.
Field Management:
- Directs the execution of statewide direct voter outreach, engagement, education, and organizing initiatives.
- Aligns field organizing objectives with PPAM's strategic goals.
- Develops and implements a metrics-driven system for defining field organizing objectives and reporting results.
- Assigns priorities for program organizers.
- Responsible for guiding the activities of supporters, volunteers, and engagement groups.
- Designs, implements, and executes grassroots issue education campaigns.
- Oversees the planning and execution of electoral ground campaign activities in targeted districts.
Engagement and Outreach:
- Actively identifies opportunities for tabling, volunteer recruitment, and public speaking.
- Establishes, maintains, and enhances relationships with state and local coalitions and allied organizations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintains current knowledge of political and legislative issues affecting the organization.
- Cultivates relationships with PPFA and other partners.
- Evaluates program effectiveness and recommends adjustments to policies and procedures.
- Reviews assignment progress with PPAM senior management.
- This role requires significant public interaction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:
Five to seven years of relevant experience in Community or Field Organizing, Political Science, Social Justice, and/or Community Engagement work, or related fields, OR any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by hiring decision makers.
