About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Aide to join our team in the Northern VA area. As a Residential Aide, you will provide support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Communicating with individuals' families, members of their IDT, day program, and other providers of services
  • Instructing, supporting, and participating in household tasks, including cleaning, preparing meals, food shopping, etc.
  • Preparing food according to developed menus, menu protocols, individuals' likes, dislikes, and prescribed diet
  • Assisting in developing daily living skills by identifying and meeting social, environmental, and health care needs
  • Transporting individuals and/or providing mobility training to assist individuals in attending appointments, community rehabilitation programs, grocery shopping, etc.
  • Attending staff meetings, training in-services, house and program meetings as instructed
  • Ensuring compliance with VOAC program requirements, environment-specific rules, as well as regulations from all monitoring entities
