Position Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled part-time Banquet Servers to enhance our dynamic Food and Beverage team at Columbia Woodlands. Our servers play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service not only to our regular dining patrons but also at a diverse range of events such as social gatherings, weddings, public functions, and corporate meetings.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

  • The capability to follow instructions effectively, think on their feet, and maintain a positive demeanor, even in high-pressure situations.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a catering or restaurant environment (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication and customer service abilities, ensuring a memorable experience for guests through courteous and attentive interactions.
  • A proactive and adaptable nature, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, while adhering to instructions.
  • An enthusiastic personality and a genuine desire to work in a hospitality-focused environment.
  • The physical stamina to meet job demands, including standing for extended periods, climbing stairs, and lifting heavy items, as well as the ability to push and pull various objects (trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc.).
  • The capacity to learn the menu thoroughly, communicate nightly updates, and make recommendations based on guests' preferences and dietary restrictions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting in the setup and preparation of event spaces and tables, ensuring attention to detail in presentation and sanitation while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Welcoming guests upon their arrival at events, providing a friendly entry experience and guiding them to the appropriate locations.
  • Understanding and executing the sequence of service consistently while supporting fellow staff members to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborating closely with the Chef and Event Coordinator.
  • Presenting menus and assisting guests in selecting food and beverages.
  • Taking and serving orders efficiently.
