The Santa Clara County Office of Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Educator Preparation Program Advisor to provide technical assistance to administrators, teachers, counselors, and others seeking certification within our Educator Preparation Programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance to administrators, teachers, counselors, and others seeking certification within our Educator Preparation Programs.
  • Assist certificated school personnel, school district administrators/personnel directors, private schools, and out-of-state candidates seeking credentialing programs and services.
  • Support program staff, students/candidates, faculty, and coaches to maintain their responsibilities within their particular EPP programs.
  • Guide and advise EPP students/candidates in terms of appropriate program pathways, funding, support services, coursework, fieldwork, and placements.
  • Maintain computerized credential program records and files.
  • Work with school personnel services to facilitate student job and intern placements.
Requirements:
  • Any combination equivalent to an Associate degree in business, communications, education, or a related field.
  • Three years' experience performing duties related to eligibility, enrollment, selection, and record-keeping in an educational setting.

Selection Process:
  • Assessments and interviews may take place virtually or in-person.
  • The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam.
  • Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts.
  • Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
  • Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities.
