Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Pharmacist to join our team at the Department of Human Services, Direct Care & Treatment Division. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing pharmaceutical support to our patients and inmates in Minnesota County Jails.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultative pharmaceutical care services to DCT patients and/or inmates in Minnesota County Jails.
  • Clinical consultations for DCT and County Jail staff regarding drug formularies, Involuntary Medication Orders (IMOs), medication reviews, documentation of medication administration, etc.
  • Serve as a consultant to medical and nursing staff to provide the most current information regarding drug therapies.
  • Provide education to students, residents, staff, community partners, and patients/inmates on pharmaceutical topics.
  • Ensure that the Jail facility staff know the expectations and follow the processes for properly dispensing medications, meeting all legal and accreditation/certification requirements, and complying with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards for the facility.
  • Network with community pharmacies and medical service providers to help County Jail staff develop working relationships with and/or contracts for services needed.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in Minnesota.
  • Two years of experience as a full-time clinical pharmacist or completion of a (PGY1) 12-month Postgraduate Pharmacy Residency.
