San Ramon Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team on a per diem basis. As a Per Diem Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations, utilizing unique knowledge and skills to contribute to perioperative patient outcomes.
- Communicate and collaborate with surgeon(s) and the anesthesiologist continuously regarding the patient's condition.
- Assist with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory, ensuring that operating room equipment is available and functioning.
- Obtain supplies for individual cases and ensure that all appropriate needs of the patient and surgical team are met.
- Respond to emergencies and physically distressful situations, demonstrating the ability to make independent and ethical nursing decisions.
- Communicate effectively and thoroughly the patient's condition upon discharge from the Operating Room to the receiving unit registered nurse.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Two (2) years recent RN experience in surgery in an Acute Care setting OR completion of an approved perioperative training program (Periop 101/OR Residency Program) in the last year.
- Current California Registered Nurse License.
- Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA certified).
- Certification in specialty preferred.
- Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and bloodborne diseases.
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
- Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness).
- Emergency and crisis situations.
- Subject to irregular hours.
- Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
- Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances, anesthetic gasses, and biohazards.
