Staff Nurse II General Surgery

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse II to join our General Surgery team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Job Summary:The Staff Nurse II will be responsible for assessing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in our General Surgery department. This includes providing direct patient care, patient education, and transitions of care in an acute patient setting.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communication.
- Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Associate degree in nursing.
- RN-Registered Nurse licensure for the state where care is provided.
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support and PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications.
- 2 years of recent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts, and practices.
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
- Time management and organizational skills to prioritize patient care, assignments, and work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices.
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, working 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday. No weekend requirements.
