Position Summary

The Afterschool Teacher, Kids' Club will play a vital role in the success of our Afterschool Program at Joaquin Miller Elementary. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging educational environment where students can thrive. Your passion for teaching and commitment to our program's vision will be essential in delivering high-quality experiences for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our students.
  • Supervise and manage student behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Provide individualized support and tutoring to students, addressing their academic and personal needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver engaging activities, promoting teamwork and a sense of community.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom, adhering to our high standards of professionalism and attention to detail.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (48 college credits minimum).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong classroom management and behavior management skills, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays from 1pm/2pm-6pm.
