About the Role

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Transmission and Distribution Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and direction to our overhead transmission design team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on transmission line design projects
  • Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Support proposal development and lead coordination and communication of project requirements and schedule needs
  • Identify and communicate technical risks associated with projects
  • Oversight of production work to meet deliverable milestones
  • Identify, develop, and communicate processes and tools to increase efficiency across teams and departments
  • Create, improve, facilitate, and teach training courses to project teams and departments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program
  • 7 years of related transmission line design experience (completion of master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience)
  • Professional engineering license (PE)
  • Ability to effectively lead project teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in scheduling and budgeting
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE
  • Consulting or utility experience preferred
