Role Summary:

The Associate Accounting Manager at NeoGenomics plays a crucial role in facilitating the company's growth by ensuring precise accounting practices and thorough analysis. You will collaborate with a team that genuinely supports your professional aspirations. Individuals who are self-driven and possess strong analytical and communication skills will excel in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and maintain monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, while assisting in variance analysis investigations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller on various special projects as required.
  • Provide insightful analysis of business operations to inform necessary accruals during the monthly closing process.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in conducting data analytics to uncover business insights and identify potential accounting discrepancies.
  • Aid in the supervision of fixed asset transactions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and scalable solutions.
  • Prepare and review requests from external auditors for interim and annual audits.
  • Manage audit requests in coordination with statutory and external audits.
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships across different functions within the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting or relevant experience.
  • Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships within and outside the accounting team.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience in model building and data mining.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification.
  • Experience with Big 4 public accounting firms.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to operate independently within a broad framework of guidelines and established policies.
  • Capacity to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Advanced computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with large-scale automated systems.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competence in meeting deadlines and building strong working relationships across all organizational levels.
