We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our team at Houston Methodist West Hospital. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive, patient-oriented pharmacy services, including processing orders, therapy review, and education to patients and other members of the direct patient care team.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to manage patients' drug therapies for effectiveness and overall safety.
- Provide Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on medication use, potential side effects, and other important information to ensure safe and effective treatment.
- Lead Pharmacy Team: Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and students, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely delivery of medications.
- Monitor Workload and Output: Monitor workload fluctuations and adjust assignments as needed to ensure efficient and accurate medication delivery.
- Participate in Quality Management: Collaborate with the pharmacy team to identify and implement quality improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program.
- Experience: No experience required, but some experience in a hospital or specialty pharmacy setting is highly preferred.
- Certifications: Must be licensed as a pharmacist in the state of Texas or eligible for licensure within 90 days. Additional certifications may be required based on the specific work assignment.
