Job Summary

The Data Analytics Specialist role at Alaska Airlines is a critical position that requires a strong understanding of data analysis and business intelligence. As a member of the Audit Data Analytics team, you will work in partnership with the Audit team to identify and visualize risk, highlight issues, and discover opportunities that drive Alaska Air Group forward.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of analytics principles, experience working with disparate data sources, and proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. You will be expected to independently execute analytics procedures, create dashboards and reports, and blend data sources to provide critical insights to Audit teams.

The team utilizes a variety of systems and technology to produce decision support tools that enable leaders and teams to take strategic action. You must be able to develop visualizations grounded in statistical best practices that facilitate effective communication of results and key findings to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data to identify trends and patterns
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations and dashboards
  • Blend data sources to provide critical insights
  • Communicate results and key findings to stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 2 years of analytical experience or a related area
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, business, computer science, or technical/engineering
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with disparate data sources and data blending
  • Adept at dashboard design, charting, and report automation
