Steel Erection Inspector

Hillis-Carnes Capitol Services, PLLC is a top-tier, multi-disciplined engineering firm with a history of success. We're seeking a motivated CWI/Structural Steel Inspector to join our team in Washington, DC.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

This role involves performing field and fabrication shop observations, testing materials for steel construction, and reporting findings to the project team. You'll interact with external project members, promote a safe workplace, and ensure proper use of PPE.

• Conduct field and fabrication shop inspections to ensure compliance with steel construction standards.
• Report observations and findings to the project team in writing.
• Interact with external project members, including senior staff, as needed.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• At least 2 years' experience in construction and structural steel erection.
• AWS CWI and/or ICC Welding certification.
• ICC High Strength Bolting certification preferred.
• Certified as MT and UT Level II or able to acquire within one year.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to meet pre-employment requirements.
• Reliable vehicle suitable for use on construction sites.
• Ability to work nights and weekends, as required.
