Parks and Open Space Leadership Position Description

The County of Marin is seeking an exceptional leader to oversee the development and management of its parks and open space systems. As the Director of Parks and Open Space, you will play a crucial role in shaping the community's recreational opportunities and preserving the natural beauty of Marin's parks and open spaces.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Develop and implement a comprehensive parks and open space plan that aligns with the County's strategic goals and objectives.
* Oversee the management of the County's parks and open space systems, ensuring that they are well-maintained and meet the needs of the community.
* Collaborate with various stakeholders, including community groups, local government agencies, and private organizations, to promote the County's parks and open spaces.
* Develop and manage budgets to ensure the effective use of resources.
* Recruit, train, and supervise a team of professionals to support the parks and open space programs.
* Analyze data and make informed decisions to improve the effectiveness of the parks and open space systems.

**Requirements**

* A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as parks and recreation, environmental science, or business administration.
* At least 5 years of experience in parks and recreation management, preferably in a leadership role.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
* Strong budgeting and financial management skills.

**Salary**

The estimated salary for this position is between $220,000 and $243,235.20 per year, based on the County's salary scale and the candidate's qualifications and experience.
