Job Title: Psychiatrist - Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) Team

Eliot is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our exceptional team working with adults with serious and persistent mental illness. Our ideal candidate would have a keen sensitivity to the needs of the population and be open to engaging in consultation and risk reviews with the team.

Job Summary:

The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric care to clients served by the PACT team, including prescribing psychotropic medications, conducting regular assessments, and educating clients on their medications. The Psychiatrist will also provide both office and home/community sessions to clients, schedule outreach sessions, and collaborate with the Team Leader and Lead RN in assessing client health and coordinating medical treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychiatric care to clients served by the PACT team, including prescribing psychotropic medications and conducting regular assessments.
  • Provide both office and home/community sessions to clients, schedule at least two days per month to outreach clients at their homes or in the community.
  • Collaborate with the Team Leader and Lead RN in assessing client health, accessing medical care and providers, and coordinating medical treatment and psychiatric care.
  • Collaborate with the Team Leader in the development of trainings and in-services for staff members, lead in-service trainings on clinical interventions, psychiatric medications, medical conditions, evidenced-based practices, the recovery process, and responding to the needs of consumers.
  • Direct and collaborate with the Team Leader and Lead RN to maintain and supervise the psychopharmacologic and medical treatment and procedures regarding client care.
  • Submit written reports and oral testimony of opinion in commitment hearings and other legal proceedings involving the team's clients.
  • Provide written orders, clinical progress notes, and documentation for all client contacts on the same day of service.
  • Model for staff members' professional behavior and clinical support to all consumers of the PACT team, including assisting staff in using recovery language and finding respectful language that emphasizes the consumer's perspective.
  • Attend at least two DOM meetings per week to assess client status, progress, overall treatment, and provide education and solutions to staff members.
  • Attend PACT meetings as required by DMH or the Director of Mental Health Services.
