Position Overview

As a Custodial Support Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a range of standardized cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of District-owned facilities. This role involves various duties aimed at ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for students and staff.

Supervision

You will receive guidance and technical instructions from a designated lead. Oversight will be provided by a Building Administrator or site-based supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

(The following tasks may not encompass all duties associated with this position.)
  1. Clean and maintain floors, including sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
  2. Sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, kitchens, and hallways, ensuring all areas are hygienic.
  3. Manage waste disposal and maintain cleanliness in classrooms and common areas.
  4. Care for gym floors and other specialized surfaces.
  5. Ensure building security by locking and unlocking as per schedule.
  6. Perform floor maintenance tasks such as stripping, waxing, and buffing.
  7. Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.
  8. Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Ability to learn about various cleaning agents and equipment utilized in custodial work.
2. Capability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions independently.
3. Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting and performing minor repairs on cleaning equipment.
4. Good physical condition to handle lifting and manual labor tasks.
5. Knowledge of safe work practices in custodial operations.
6. Effective communication skills to interact positively with students, staff, and administrators.
7. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and interruptions.
8. Experience working with diverse populations is advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education sufficient to read and follow simple instructions. Previous custodial experience is not required.
