About the Role
We are seeking an experienced leader to drive strategic communications and media services for the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA). As a key member of our team, you will lead a high-performing team and provide expert strategic communications advice across a range of DEECA portfolios, including Agriculture, Resources and Water and Catchments.
About You
- A tertiary qualification in Communications or other relevant discipline is required. Further postgraduate study and sound knowledge of and experience working in government would be well regarded.
- Proven experience in leading strategic communications and media services, with a strong track record of delivering results-driven campaigns and initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, media, and the public.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies and plans.
About the Division
The Strategic Communications Division is responsible for building and protecting DEECA's reputation and promoting its initiatives, projects, and programs that support the Victorian community and the built and natural environment.
We provide strategic advice and guidance on media, marketing, digital, and communication (internal and external) to best position DEECA and deliver informative and educational data-driven content to staff, the media, stakeholders, and the community.
This is a Fixed-Term Position
The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria, with hybrid work arrangements available.
Eligibility
- Current Victorian Public Service (VPS) employees, employed on an ongoing, fixed-term, or casual basis, are eligible to apply for this role.
- People on labour hire contracts, such as agency staff and contractors, are not eligible to apply.
