The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the flow of patient information throughout the care process, including the collection of insurance details upon patient arrival.

This position is responsible for ensuring that patients are scheduled, checked in, and checked out accurately and promptly.

The Coordinator will handle patient registration, financial services, data entry, greet and direct patients, respond to routine inquiries, and provide general office support as needed.


Key Responsibilities:
Perform duties in alignment with KureSmart's mission, vision, and objectives.
Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and their families.
Maintain confidentiality in all matters, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Gather and confirm all demographic, insurance, and financial information, entering it into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Assist patients with electronic forms and medical documentation as required.
Collect co-pays, co-insurances, deductibles, and outstanding balances from patients, ensuring daily reconciliation of all funds collected.
Process patient intake forms and schedule follow-up appointments using EMR.
Coordinate follow-up appointments in compliance with insurance protocols.

Organize and execute tasks efficiently, demonstrating ownership, teamwork, communication, and compassion that enhance patient satisfaction and service excellence.

Ensure all necessary documentation (i

e:
referrals, identification, insurance cards, etc.) is current and available at the time of service.

Manage phone inquiries from patients and others, screening calls to determine the nature and urgency of requests, and directing callers to the appropriate personnel.

Schedule appointments via phone, patient portal, and in-person.
Copy, barcode, and scan medical records as necessary.
Maintain the cleanliness of the patient waiting area.
Participate in and complete all required training and in-service sessions.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proficient in Internet and Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on customer service.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with healthcare professionals, colleagues, and the public.
Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Able to accurately handle and maintain financial transactions.
Skilled in following both verbal and written instructions.
Flexible availability for scheduling.
Ability to respond with patience and understanding in stressful situations related to patient health and emergencies.
Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing tasks.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Strong organizational abilities.
Capable of problem-solving and applying reasoning.
Ability to meet established quality standards.
Project a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

If employed in an ASC, must provide proof of annual influenza vaccination (must wear a procedure mask if declining the flu vaccine).

If employed in an ASC, must complete a two-step PPD.
Fulfill all regulatory competencies required for working in the ASC.
Familiarity with the healthcare sector and medical specialties, along with medical terminology.

A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service; adherence to the regulations of accountable organizations; maintenance of high ethical and professional standards; and a desire for continuous improvement in professional performance.


Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree from an accredited institution.
One year of experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Travel Requirements:
The employee must have reliable transportation. Travel for this position may be required up to 25%.

While the primary workplace may be closest to the employee's home, work assignments could be in any of the Company's locations.
