We are seeking an experienced Economist/Scientist to join our Amazon Business Science team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing science models to analyze and drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to supplier operations strategy development based on science models and data analysis
- Develop models to measure long-term impact of seller behaviors
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to launch selection and operations systems based on science and data
- Use economic techniques to create scientific solutions for business problems
- Research, experiment, and implement novel approaches
- Work closely with other scientists in the team and across teams
- Work and collaborate effectively with product managers and software engineering teams to build algorithms and models and integrate successful models and algorithms in production systems
- Use best practices in science: data integrity, design, test, and implementation and documentation
- Contribute to Amazon's Intellectual Property through patents and internal and external publications
Amazon Business represents an incredible opportunity to address a vast new market segment and customer base for Amazon. We are focused on building solutions that enable B2B customers to find, research, and buy products and services across multiple devices and marketplaces. The Amazon Business Science team owns the science and analytics for key AB problems including price setting and selection additions.
Requirements- PhD in economics or equivalent
- 2+ years of industry, consulting, government, or academic research experience
- Knowledge of at least one statistical software package such as R, Stata, Matlab, SAS
- Experience in prediction and forecasting in a research or industrial environment
- Experience with handling of large datasets
