About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Forensic Nurse Examiner to join our team at Methodist Health System.

As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you will play a critical role in providing compassionate and non-judgmental care to victims of sexual assault. Your expertise will be essential in conducting medical-forensic exams, collecting evidence, and supporting patients through the legal process.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical-forensic examinations, including photographic documentation and evidence collection
  • Maintain confidentiality and chain of custody for patient information, adhering to HIPAA guidelines
  • Provide expert testimony in court, ensuring accurate and unbiased representation
  • Collaborate with emergency department staff and the Turning Point Rape Crisis Center to meet patients' acute needs
  • Function as a forensic consultant for child abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse, and other victims of violence
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Nursing; BSN preferred
  • Valid and current Texas RN license
  • Current SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) certification from the Texas Attorney General's office
  • Current TNCC certification
