Role Summary:

UNC Hospitals Rehabilitation Services is seeking candidates for a full-time outpatient Rehabilitation Specialist role, focusing on adult orthopedic care, sports medicine, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. This position involves collaboration with a skilled team of rehabilitation professionals at our Ambulatory Care Center, providing essential services to patients facing various socioeconomic challenges. Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills are crucial in this dynamic setting. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, and candidates with OCS or Residency training are preferred. Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnostic Assessment: Conducts both basic and advanced diagnostic evaluations in Physical Therapy to address mobility disorders and related challenges.
2. Education and Training: Instructs and supervises graduate Physical Therapy students and clinical fellows/residents. Contributes to innovative programs aimed at improving patient care and serves as a resource for other clinicians in specialized areas.
3. Care Evaluation: Analyzes diagnostic and therapeutic testing results to set patient goals and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Communicates vital information to ensure continuity of care.
4. Service Implementation: Selects and applies current and advanced techniques to deliver high-quality rehabilitative services. Organizes care based on patient and family needs.
5. Community Engagement: Acts as a resource for state health departments and local health professionals in specialized areas. Engages in community health initiatives and participates in the development of new clinical programs to address emerging needs.
6. Team Participation: Enhances clinical service quality through active participation in departmental meetings and training sessions.
7. Quality Assurance: Maintains accurate and reliable records of patient procedures and progress. Involves in quality improvement initiatives alongside clinical specialists and other healthcare professionals.

Additional Information:
Education Requirements:
● Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
● BLS certification.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● No prior experience is necessary.
