The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Thrift Store Sales Associate to join our team.

About the Role:
  • Donation Management: Accept and evaluate donations for resale suitability, ensuring quality of inventory by adhering to merchandise standards.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain donation area cleanliness throughout the store's business hours, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for customers.
  • Merchandise Display: Clean, price, and display merchandise, arranging displays throughout the store as assigned to maximize sales potential.
  • Cash Handling: Operate cash register, assist with sales transactions, and reconcile daily cash receipts with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, answering phone lines, and assisting customers on the sales floor with sales suggestions and product information.
  • Team Collaboration: Build positive donor relations by providing information on the use of donations, and actively support a team environment among store associates.
  • Store Safety: Ensure a safe work environment by keeping aisles and other areas clear of debris, and unload donations from trucks.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of customer service.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
