Substitute School Nurse Opportunity

The Union Gap School District is seeking a skilled Substitute School Nurse to join our team and contribute to the health and well-being of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health Needs Assessment and Care
    • Evaluate the health needs of students and provide appropriate care, including administering medical procedures as authorized.
    • Collaborate with parents, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote student health and well-being.
  • Emergency Response and Follow-up
    • Respond to emergency medical situations and ensure timely follow-up action.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance
    • Maintain student confidentiality and ensure compliance with legal requirements and professional standards.
Essential Functions:
  • Nursing Practice and Standards
    • Perform nursing duties within the scope of the nursing practice act and adhere to legal and medical professional standards.
  • Critical Needs Assessment and Care
    • Assess and provide for the critical needs of students, including administering medical procedures as authorized.
  • Health and Safety Reporting
    • Report health and safety issues to administrators and relevant agencies to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
Working Conditions:

This role requires working under limited supervision, following standardized practices and methods, and utilizing resources from other work units as needed.

Requirements:
  • Valid RN or LPN License
  • BSN preferred but not required
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
