Position Overview:


Our client, a leading EPC firm, is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Control Systems Specialist to join their New York office.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing instrumentation and control systems for various projects.

Candidates with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license are preferred, though those willing to obtain it will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:


Design, develop, and implement instrumentation and control systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Work includes both in-plant and remote telemetry (SCADA) projects, with HMI and PLC programming.

Develop P&IDs; prepare I&C system specifications; prepare cost estimates; and review and approve documentation developed by contractors and systems integrators.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Provide technical support and guidance during the installation, testing, and commissioning of I&C systems.
Develop and review engineering documents, including specifications, datasheets, and control system diagrams.
Conduct field inspections and provide engineering support during construction phases.
Ensure that all engineering work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Participate in project meetings and provide input on project planning, scheduling, and execution.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas, or a commitment to obtain the license within a specified time frame.
3+ years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering design experience.
Control system networking expertise and software programming capability preferred.
Cybersecurity experience/qualifications a bonus
Strong knowledge of control systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and related software.
Experience with designing and implementing control systems in industries such as water/wastewater, manufacturing, industrial, pharmaceutical.
Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, and control system simulation software.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface with clients and project stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience in leading and mentoring junior engineers.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISA, IEC, and NEC.
Project management experience or certifications such as PMP.

Work Environment:


This position is based in our client's New York office, with potential for site visits and fieldwork as required by project demands.
