About the Position
We are seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals to join our team as Research Faculty in the Spectrum Dominance Division at the Virginia Tech National Security Institute. The successful candidates will have expertise in one of three key technology areas: digital communications, quantum information science, or computational electromagnetics.
Key Responsibilities
The Research Faculty will be responsible for conducting research and development in their area of expertise, authoring technical documents, publishing peer-reviewed academic papers, and supporting the development of new funded research programs. They will also provide mentorship to students and junior researchers working on programs.
Required Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Evidence of high potential for excellence in research and development
• Experience with conducting research and development
• Proficiency with tools germane to field of research
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team in executing upon research projects
Preferred Qualifications
• Active security clearance at the TS/SCI level
• Interest and/or experience in working effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
• Experience working in an academic environment
• Experience conducting research programs supporting the federal government
