Position Overview

The Infection Preventionist (IP) plays a crucial role in overseeing the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) within the nursing facility. This position serves as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator for staff across various locations, concentrating on key areas such as:

  • Infection Prevention & Control Activities
  • Outcome & Process Surveillance
  • Outbreak Management
  • Employee Health
Key Responsibilities

Training and Education:
Facilitate new hire orientation by delivering essential infection prevention and control training for newly recruited staff.

Program Development:
Create and implement educational initiatives in response to identified infection control needs, utilizing data from QAPI, rounding, center quality measures, or other assessments.

Quality Assurance:
Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain the IPCP to ensure the highest quality of patient care concerning the investigation, control, and prevention of infections and communicable diseases within the nursing facility.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience is required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate employees on evening and night shifts.
Compensation and Benefits

Position Type: Full Time
Pay Target: $84,000 - $94,000 yearly
