About the Role

Ryan Companies is seeking a highly skilled Safety Coordinator to join our Industrial team. As a key member of our safety function, you will play a critical role in supporting and coordinating the implementation of our corporate safety program across various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Deliver Safety Training: Assist in the creation and delivery of comprehensive safety training courses, ensuring all employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs safely.
  • Collaborate with Field Teams: Work closely with Field Coordinators, Field Managers, and employees to implement the corporate safety program, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Contribute to Safety Program Management: Participate in the development, design, and continuous improvement of our corporate safety and health program, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor Construction Activities: Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities, providing advice and guidance to management on compliance with regulations and laws.
  • Investigate Incidents: Lead the investigation of serious accidents, major property damage, and incidents involving the general public, analyzing data to identify root causes and develop preventive measures to eliminate or control hazards.
  • Evaluate Safety Programs: Conduct safety and health program evaluations of construction activities, advising supervision and management on the adequacy and compliance of safety protocols.
  • Assist with Claims Management: Support all company claims management functions, ensuring timely and effective resolution of claims.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to various job locations (up to 75%) to support safety initiatives and collaborate with field teams.
Requirements
  • OSHA Certification: Possess a solid working understanding of OSHA regulations related to the construction industry and hold OSHA 500 Certification.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of safety experience within the construction industry, with a proven track record of implementing and maintaining effective safety programs.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Education: A degree in safety and risk management or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications: Possess certifications such as CSP, GSP, CIH, ASP, or CHST, and hold First aid & CPR certification.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and productively with others, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
