Job Title: Family Finding Worker

At Hoyleton Youth and Family Services, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Family Finding Worker to join our team. As a Family Finding Worker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of children in our care.

Job Summary:

The Family Finding Worker will be responsible for conducting thorough reviews of case files, identifying family members or other key individuals who may be options for placement, permanency planning, and/or supporting life-long connections. You will work closely with children, youth, and their caregivers to build meaningful relationships and provide support to achieve permanency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough reviews of case files to identify potential family members or other key individuals who may be options for placement, permanency planning, and/or supporting life-long connections.
  2. Work closely with children, youth, and their caregivers to build meaningful relationships and provide support to achieve permanency.
  3. Assist families in obtaining necessary requirements for the licensing process, including fingerprinting, physical exams, and other necessary paperwork.
  4. Build respite and/or other natural supports to allow children and youth to broaden their support system.
  5. Conduct interviews with caregivers, relatives, community members, or the child/youth themselves to identify family/fictive kin and support foster youth in developing meaningful and enduring connections with adults.
  6. Focus efforts on achieving anticipated outcomes, including an increase in reunification rates, improved well-being and placement stability, transition out of the child welfare system, decrease in re-entry rates, and a stronger sense of belonging for children.
  7. Participate in case conferences, CFTM's, and case supervision.
  8. Maintain accurate records of contact information for parents, family members, fictive kin, service providers, and other resource contacts.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year working with children.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must possess and maintain proof of automobile insurance.
CARE and TCI:

As a Family Finding Worker, you will be expected to align your performance with our overarching philosophy of CARE, which includes the six CARE principles: Developmentally Focused, Family Involved, Relationship Based, Ecologically Oriented, Competence Centered, and Trauma Informed. You will also be required to pass TCI training with a satisfactory grade in written and/or physical testing and remain current on refresher training.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to the well-being and safety of children. If you are passionate about working with families and children, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
