Job Overview:

GDIT is seeking a Desktop Systems Administrator to deliver both in-person and remote Tier 1 and 2 support for clients experiencing hardware, software, and application issues across various enterprise networks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide on-site, hands-on operational support for client computing devices, including personal computers, thin/zero clients, laptops, and peripherals.

- Ensure end-user IT system and software maintenance is performed effectively. Manage the accountability of Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) for new, replacement, and upgraded equipment.

- Track equipment disposition throughout its lifecycle, including processing end-of-life and damaged equipment.

- Develop procedures for managing and testing desktop load set configurations, including tracking user issues and software conflicts.

- Offer support to Coalition partners as needed, providing expertise on Coalition Partner Networks.


Additional Duties:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand system requirements and design integrated solutions.
  • Work with software developers and system administrators to implement integration interfaces.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of integrated systems, resolving any functionality issues.
  • Document integration processes, including configuration settings and troubleshooting methods.
  • Provide technical support during deployment and post-deployment phases.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on integration strategies.
  • Participate in meetings to share knowledge and best practices in systems integration.
  • Support teams with Service Delivery strategy and design, partnering with operations to deploy capabilities.
  • Maintain key customer relationships to support IT hardware lifecycle replacement.

Education and Certifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification.

Required Skills:

  • Systems planning and coordination of IT systems.
  • Modifying established systems to enhance workflow.
  • Experience in Windows, Linux, and/or virtual environments.
  • Establishing standards for information systems procedures.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with USCENTCOM and its mission.
  • Knowledge of USCENTCOM's IT environment.

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 10% travel required for support.
