Position Overview:

Role Summary:

The Logistics Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Receiving Manager to ensure the effective functioning of the receiving department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering exceptional customer service as the top priority.
  2. Demonstrating integrity, accountability, and excellence while adhering to all company policies.
  3. Assisting in the precise receipt of all incoming merchandise, including checking for accuracy and damage.
  4. Utilizing scanning technology for all incoming and outgoing products.
  5. Organizing products for seamless delivery to the sales area.
  6. Timely and accurate processing of purchase orders, returns, invoices, and related documentation.
  7. Investigating and resolving discrepancies in product deliveries.
  8. Communicating effectively with department managers regarding delivery challenges and vendor stock issues.
  9. Following up on special orders as necessary.
  10. Operating forklifts and pallet jacks as required.
  11. Maintaining a tidy and organized backroom area.
  12. Collaborating with department managers to address performance-related matters.
  13. Supporting store opening and closing tasks, including daily sales reporting and cash handling.
  14. Managing register operations, including customer returns and addressing complaints.
  15. Ensuring the safety and security of both customers and team members.
  16. Assisting in the training and oversight of department staff, including task assignment and follow-up.
  17. Taking initiative to provide additional support throughout the store and stepping in on the sales floor when receiving tasks are completed.
  18. Responding to customer inquiries in accordance with company standards and policies.
  19. Continuously enhancing product knowledge.
  20. Utilizing inventory management software and other necessary programs.
  21. Working a flexible schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  22. This position has limited managerial responsibilities and is not intended to serve as the overall Manager on Duty.

While this outline provides a general overview of responsibilities, all employees are expected to be proactive and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  2. 1 year of experience in a grocery, retail, or receiving environment preferred; experience with natural foods is advantageous.
  3. 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
  4. Ability to obtain forklift certification.
  5. Ability to complete food safety training and maintain compliance with required certifications.
  6. Capacity to manage shifting priorities while maintaining focus on tasks.
  7. Possess a sense of urgency in task completion.
  8. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  9. Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  10. Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks.
  11. Must be trained in cashier operations and proficient in handling currency.
  12. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
