Key Responsibilities

- Cultivate an atmosphere that makes customers feel valued and appreciated by addressing inquiries about products available in the department and throughout the store.
- Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of products offered in the department to effectively respond to questions and provide recommendations.
- Collaborate with team members to promote teamwork and achieve company/store objectives.
- Prepare beverage selections according to established recipes and standards, accommodating customer requests using appropriate equipment; process transactions following company best practices.
- Provide product samples to assist customers in discovering new items or products they inquire about; inform customers of current promotions.
- Ensure customers receive fresh products they have ordered in the correct portion size to minimize waste.
- Suggest coffee shop items to customers to ensure they receive the products they desire.
- Operate all coffee shop equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens, in accordance with company guidelines; prepare, package, label, and manage inventory of ingredients.
- Assess product quality to guarantee freshness; review expiration dates and take necessary actions.
- Properly utilize kitchen equipment, espresso machines, blenders, computerized scales, and steamers.
- Label, stock, and manage inventory of department merchandise.
- Report any discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
- Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotions.
- Reinforce safety initiatives by adhering to safety protocols and identifying unsafe conditions, notifying store management as necessary; comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and alerting the appropriate department or store manager of any items requiring repair.
- Inform management of any customer or employee accidents; report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activities, including theft or fraud, to store management.
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Previous relevant experience is advantageous.
