About the Role

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, a leading provider of power generation services, parts, and repairs, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Apprentice to join their team. As a CNC Machinist Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in setting up and operating computer numerical control machine tools to produce precision parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and precision instruments.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto machines.
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machine work.
  • Modify cutting programs to address problems encountered during operation and save modified programs.
  • Enter commands to store or retrieve part programs, graphic displays, or programs that transfer data to other media.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, location of cutting lines, and dimension and tolerances.
  • Start and run machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
  • Adjust machine speeds and actions according to product specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Support other areas of the shop as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 0-2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operations within the area.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objectives.
  • Ability to read and use related quality control tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, indicators, and tape measures.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Understanding of lean and 6S safety in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good computer skills.
