Position: Title and Registration Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Title and Registration Specialist to manage the processing of vehicle titles and registrations. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of documentation related to automotive transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify documentation and complete necessary state forms, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Process registrations for both new and pre-owned vehicles using the dealership's software system.
  • Facilitate title transfers for pre-owned vehicles.
  • Prepare and manage title envelopes for distribution.
  • Maintain follow-up on all incoming titles to ensure timely processing.
  • Reconcile schedules for tax, title, and license payables, as well as lien payoffs.
  • Identify and report internal control issues to management.
  • Maintain accurate error logs to track discrepancies.
  • Process payoffs related to trade-ins and floor plans, coordinating with financial institutions.
  • Verify Finance and Insurance (F&I) data against documentation.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly reconciliations of inventory schedules.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing for sales consultants on a semi-monthly basis.
  • Verify F&I logs against accounting data prior to month-end closing.
  • Manage the processing of rebates as necessary.
  • Participate in weekly departmental meetings to discuss progress and challenges.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of six months of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.

Licenses and Certifications

A Notary Bond is required for this position.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, use hands for tasks, and communicate effectively. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
