Position Overview:
We are currently in search of an Employment Relations Coordinator. This role is pivotal in establishing connections with potential employers across diverse sectors, championing the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in their workforce. The Employment Relations Coordinator serves as a vital link between our programs and the employment landscape, ensuring that skill development aligns with the needs of both our members and the employers.
- Engage with potential employers to identify entry-level opportunities that align with our members' skill sets, fostering independence and supporting their career aspirations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to facilitate a smooth transition for our members into the workforce.
- Advocate for individuals with disabilities in the job market and educate employers on the advantages of hiring from this diverse talent pool.
- Participate in workforce development coalitions and meetings to remain informed about industry trends.
- Organize informational sessions for employers to highlight the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities.
- Acknowledge and celebrate employer partners through annual recognition events.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and assess impact.
- Assist members in their roles by implementing necessary accommodations and strategies.
- Research best practices to enhance mentoring initiatives for peer mentors.
- Act as the primary contact for employer inquiries and job opportunities for our members.
- Facilitate networking opportunities that promote inclusion and community engagement.
- Disseminate newsletters containing relevant information to employment and community partners.
- Schedule meetings, create agendas, and distribute meeting outcomes in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly progress reports while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Serve as a liaison between employers, leadership, and program staff.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders through various channels.
- Support a safe work environment and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
- Prepare reports and maintain positive relationships with customers and professionals.
- Stay informed about ADA, DDRS, VR, and APSE compliance standards.
- Accurately log hours worked and respond to communications promptly.
- Identify new activities of interest through relevant resources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Familiarity with ADA or human resources practices preferred.
Skills:
- Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities.
- Experience in sales, recruitment, marketing, and negotiation.
- Ability to support business processes and execute tasks efficiently.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Ability to lift and move items as needed.
- Manual dexterity for handling materials and objects.
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
