SUMMARY

As a Licensed Practical Nurse Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing nursing care for patients and managing the daily nursing activities conducted by nursing assistants. This supervision will adhere to current federal, state, and local regulations governing our nursing center, as well as directives from the Administrator, Medical Director, and/or Director of Nursing Services to ensure appropriate patient care.

PRN: Day/Weekend

Starting Pay: $23 to $28/hour

Shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends

Management add-on pay

Weekly pay

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operation of oxygen equipment, including turning on/off, changing cylinder heads, and cleaning/replacing humidifiers as necessary.
  • Management of suction machines (oral), including cleaning and selecting appropriate suction catheters.
  • Utilization of manual respirators.
  • Identification and use of emergency equipment supplies (e.g., crash cart).
  • Operation of whirlpool scales and glucose monitoring devices, including calibration and cleaning.
  • Administration of medications (setting up, rotating, charting, ordering, and dispensing to patients).
  • Receiving medications from the pharmacy in accordance with established protocols.
  • Understanding procedures and determining Advance Directive status for patients.
  • Collection of lab specimens and interpretation of results.
  • Implementation and administration of IV therapy.
  • Monitoring seizure precautions and administering IV medication during seizures.
  • Admitting, discharging, and transferring patients as needed.
  • Documentation and billing of supplies utilized.
  • Maintaining effective communication with attending physicians.
  • Assisting the Director of Nursing Services in coordinating care planning/MDS processes and committee meetings as required.
  • Participating in patient screening and selection processes as requested.
  • Supporting the Director of Nursing Services in following up on consultant recommendations, such as pharmacy and dietary.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Proficient in computer usage, particularly Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, patients, family members, and visitors, providing a warm and friendly greeting and an approachable demeanor. Responding to concerns while displaying a caring attitude and answering questions professionally.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or graduation from an approved LPN program.
