Deli Clerk

About the Role:

The Deli Clerk is a key member of our retail team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our guests. As a Deli Clerk, you will be the face of Festival Foods, working closely with our customers to understand their needs and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Provide prompt and courteous service to guests, answering questions and resolving issues in a professional and friendly manner.
• Order Fulfillment: Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders with attention to detail and quality, ensuring that every item meets our high standards.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, rotating stock and replenishing products as needed to ensure a seamless shopping experience.
• Food Safety: Lead by example in maintaining food safety logs and adhering to all safety standards, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our guests.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with our deli team to achieve sales goals, share knowledge, and support each other in providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements:

• Customer Focus: Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel, providing a positive and welcoming experience.
• Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with guests and team members.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful work environment, while supporting team members.
• Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on equipment and procedures.
• Food Knowledge: Knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising skills, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Full range of upper body motion.
• Ability to work at a fast pace.
• May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
