- The Assistant Activity Director plays a crucial role in executing designated recreational and activity responsibilities within the facility, while also supporting the Activity Director in the strategic planning, development, and organization of the Activity Department in accordance with The Alden Network's established policies and guidelines.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience: A minimum of three years in both group and individual activity programming is essential.
- Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Marketing Skills: Ability to effectively promote The Alden Network's Activity Program to diverse audiences.
- Preferred Qualifications: An associate or bachelor's degree in relevant fields is highly desirable.
- Licensing: A valid driver's license is required, with a willingness to operate the facility bus as necessary.
- Interpersonal Skills: Must demonstrate compassion and understanding when working with varied populations.
- Leadership Abilities: Strong decision-making skills and the capability to guide staff effectively are necessary.
- Emotional Intelligence: Ability to manage both personal and others' emotional needs.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds and move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Health Standards: Must maintain good health and work effectively with residents.
- Operational Duties: Responsible for lifting equipment, supplies, and occasionally rearranging furniture.
- Health Precautions: Subject to potential exposure to infectious diseases and conditions.
- Goal Setting: Establish and monitor the achievement of facility and program objectives through a collaborative approach.
- Program Development: Create and sustain a therapeutic, person-centered activity program aimed at enhancing the quality of life for each resident.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all Activity Policies and Procedures, as well as State and Federal regulations.
- Documentation: Conduct assessments and complete necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Communication: Develop and implement communication strategies for residents in line with their Individual Program Plans.
- Orientation: Design an orientation program to help residents understand the activity programming.
- Activity Design: Tailor activities to meet the individual needs and preferences of residents.
- Respect for Residents: Ensure that daily activities honor the schedules, choices, and rights of the residents.
- Individual Programs: Implement one-on-one programs as required.
- Volunteer Coordination: Establish and maintain a volunteer program for family members and/or residents.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other assigned duties as needed.
