Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) in their operational duties.
  • Prepare, review, and enhance authorization documentation for information systems.
  • Ensure compliance with established protocols for the sanitization and destruction of hardware and media.
  • Alert the ISSM regarding any changes that may affect system authorization.
  • Conduct regular assessments to verify adherence to security authorization standards.
  • Collaborate with the ISSM and AO/DAO on hardware, software, or firmware modifications prior to execution.
  • Oversee system recovery procedures to guarantee the restoration of security features.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accessible documentation related to information security.
  • Gather, evaluate, and record audit logs, noting any discrepancies.
  • Participate in relevant technical and security training.
  • Carry out cybersecurity components of self-assessments, including security coordination and review of system evaluation plans.
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist in the implementation of remedial measures.
  • Generate reports detailing the status of security measures applied to information systems.
  • Perform ISSO responsibilities for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage in continuous monitoring activities within established authorization limits.
  • Assist Department of Defense, National Agency, and Contractor entities with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in information systems security, particularly in a Department of Defense context.
  • In-depth understanding of SAPs, SCI, and Collateral security measures.
  • Expertise in preparing and reviewing security authorization documentation.
  • Experience in system security monitoring, recovery processes, and identifying cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
