We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Underwriting Officer to lead our West Zone underwriting team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving underwriting excellence and ensuring that our commercial lines middle market branches meet profit and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies that align with our business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive sales and underwriting excellence.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to regional underwriting staff on portfolio management and strategic underwriting decisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with operations, loss control, and claims teams to operationalize underwriting decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging issues, and proactively respond to regulatory and legal environment changes.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of proven property-casualty underwriting experience in a middle market environment.
  • Broad underwriting experience across classes of business and lines of business.
  • Strong business, insurance, and marketplace knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
