The Maintenance Manager is a key member of the Dowa THT America Inc. team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of all facility equipment, including heat treat furnaces, conveyor equipment, washers, air compressors, shop blast equipment, salt bath/coating production line, gas generators, and air dryers.
- Team Leadership: Directly manage a team of five maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Inventory Management: Maintain the spare part and supply inventory system through our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring that all necessary parts and materials are available when needed.
- Troubleshooting: Develop and implement effective and accurate trouble-shooting methods for equipment repair, root cause analysis of malfunctions, and options for remediation.
- Record Keeping: Monitor and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including vendor history, contractors, project costs, and other relevant data.
- Partnerships: Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure efficient, expedient, and cost-effective parts ordering.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement an ongoing preventative maintenance system to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Capital Investment: Participate in capital investment assessment, improvement, and business strategy planning to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Communication: Provide regular updates to team members and stakeholders on current and upcoming maintenance demands and projects.
- Response and Resolution: Respond promptly to maintenance tickets and execute timely resolutions to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Education: High school education or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, working knowledge of electrical systems, and experience with maintenance systems/software.
- Experience: At least 7 years of experience in a maintenance role in a production/manufacturing environment with machinery, and 3 years of experience in staff supervision as a manager.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with a strategic thinking approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read and comprehend blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to customer locations to assist in contractor management, up to 1 week four times per year, and a twice-monthly day trip.
- Desirable Skills: Knowledge of PLCs and current safety practices, with a willingness to obtain company-sponsored training upon hire.
Dowa THT America Inc. offers a competitive compensation package, including a target salary of $110,000, and an excellent benefits package, including PTO, 401(k) with employer match, zero-deductible health care plan, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, critical illness coverage, and identity theft protection.
This is an exempt position that requires some evening and/or weekend work as needed. All hires must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, including criminal and a 9-panel drug screen.
