Job Summary

Capstone On-Campus Management LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize common areas, including halls, stairways, public restrooms, lounges, elevators, laundry rooms, trash rooms, corridors, kitchens, and other areas as assigned.
  • Operate and maintain assigned equipment, including floor scrubbers, extractors, pressure washers, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Assist with seasonal snow removal and other outdoor maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Operations, including setup of facilities for meetings and events.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • At least one year of experience in janitorial and/or custodial work, with a focus on general cleaning skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and bending.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of relevant experience in janitorial, custodial, and/or cleaning services, with expertise in general accepted janitorial/custodial practices.
  • Previous experience working in a custodial program in student housing campus facilities or hospitality management industry.
Work Environment

The work environment is mid-to-high paced, with moderate noise levels. The physical demands of this role include frequent standing, walking, and bending, with occasional lifting and moving of heavy objects.
