About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Master Carpenter to join our team at CO Adaptive Building in the New York City Metropolitan Area. As a key member of our build team, you will be responsible for supporting the Point Person and Lead Foreperson in successful in-house construction scopes.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret architectural plans to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Acknowledge demolition situations and execute safe and efficient removal processes.
  • Install doors, baseboards, shoe molding, door casings, floor framing, subfloor, wooden walls, and metal walls with precision.
  • Set up ladders and baker scaffolding safely.
  • Remove and install exterior doors and windows securely.
  • Maintain tools on site and recognize various fasteners for appropriate usage.
  • Identify unsafe situations and apply solutions promptly.

You will work on a single renovation project at a time, occasionally transitioning to other job sites as required for holistic project sequencing. Direct work involves collaborating with designers, architects, project managers, and directors to develop new assemblies and methods for improved constructability and efficiency.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in townhouse construction with emphasis on rough and finish carpentry.
  • Natural problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for learning new approaches in construction.
  • Efficient work habits and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, highly communicative, and team-focused individual.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of $66,000-$80,000 per year ($33-40/hour), depending on experience and craft alignment.
